MEMBERS' CODE OF CONDUCT
The Rose Society of Western Australia is an historic society dedicated to encouraging, improving, fostering and extending the cultivation and appreciation of the Rose.
As a Society operated primarily by volunteers for the benefit of our members, all members of The Rose Society of Western Australia Inc have an individual and collective responsibility to contribute in a positive way to the operations of the Society.
In the spirit of the RSWA’s stated aims, the Council has developed a Code of Conduct based on the following 10 CORE PRINCIPLES:

Members and guests attending meetings and social functions are encouraged to enjoy the companionship of each other and agree:

To respect and work within the Rules (Constitution) of the RSWA

Not to engage in offensive or abusive language, actions or conduct unbecoming at RSWA meetings or events that would bring the Society into disrepute

Respect each other and conduct themselves in a manner that will not cause offence

All Council meeting discussions are confidential

To work as an energised team with a ‘can-do attitude’

To listen to others, forgive as needed and be accountable

To follow the Society’s Rules (Constitution) and By-laws to handle any dispute with another member or with the Council of the Society
Social Media:

All references to the RSWA in social media postings, blogs, status updates and tweets will be treated as public “comment” and no statements should be made that are misleading, false or likely to injure a person’s reputation or bring the Society into dispute. Any abusive, discriminatory, intimidating, misleading or offensive statements will not be tolerated. Offending posts will be removed and those responsible will be blocked from the site.

With our new Code of Conduct, we look forward to building on the efforts of those who have gone before us to secure the Rose Society of Western Australia for the next 90 years and beyond.
